About GPA Grade Compare
GPA Grade Compare publishes one thing: what institutions print about their own grading scales and honours rules, quoted verbatim from the registrar's own page with the day it was read.
Why this site exists
Because a grade point average is a number every student is judged on and almost nobody can check. The tables repeated across the internet are folk tables with no source and no date, and they disagree with each other. The registrar's own page is the authority, and this site is that page's figures put side by side.
Who it is for
A student holding a transcript who wants to know what the number means and how it was arrived at.
Anyone moving a transcript between institutions or countries, who needs to know that the same letter is not the same number everywhere.
What it does not do
- We do not publish a figure no institution printed. Where an honours rule is a percentile of the graduating class, we say so instead of inventing a GPA.
- We do not average the scales into a national table. A derived scale rendered as though a registrar published it is the thing this site exists to replace.
- We do not rank institutions, and nobody can pay to be in the index or to move in it.
- We are not an evaluation service. For a formal equivalency, use a recognised credential evaluator or the national agency.

- Plus/minus 4.0 scale: The plus/minus 4.0 scale is the commonest grading scale in American higher education: an A is worth four grade points, and the plus and minus grades sit between the whole numbers.
- Scales that record an A+: On an unweighted 4.0 scale the highest grade point is four, and an A+ is worth exactly the same as an A.
- Percentage-mapped scale: Most American registrars publish a letter and a grade point and no percentage at all, because the percentage is set by the instructor course by course.

Institution grading scales verified against each registrar's own published pages on 2026-09-10 by infra/ingest/hubs/gpagradecompare.com/ingest_scales.py: every quoted figure re-fetched and matched verbatim (hash-pinned). 12 of 19 institutions print a B+ grade point; 0 () print no such figure and are listed with the reason.
